Congratulations to Thomas Buttiens, a PhD student working at Laboratoire Albert Fert in collaboration with C2N, for receiving one of the Best Poster Awards at the annual gathering of the PEPR Electronique that took place in Lyon from March 18 to 20, 2026. PEPR Electronique is a French national research program led by CNRS and CEA aiming to strengthen strategic electronics capabilities by advancing technologies from fundamental research to industrial maturity and fostering innovation, sovereignty, and sustainable production in Europe. Thomas’s work focuses on the development of Rashba 2-dimension electron gases controllable by ferroelectricity, in order to enable ferroelectric spin-orbit (FESO) logic circuits, for ultralow power computing and AI. It is part of the EMCOM project of the PEPR.
